INSTALLATION OF A 300 kW GROUND-MOUNTED PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT

INSTALLATION OF A 300 kW GROUND-MOUNTED PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT AT THE MEDICAL SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRETE

Posted on: 01/30/26

CRETA ENERGON has successfully completed another ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant installation project.

The project involves the installation of a ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant with a total installed capacity of 300 kW, in a suitably selected and properly configured area within the premises of the Medical School of the University of Crete. The aim of the project is the generation of electrical energy from renewable energy sources and the coverage of the Institution’s energy needs, contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and the promotion of the sustainable development of the University of Crete.

The photovoltaic power plant consists of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules installed on ground-mounted steel support structures, with appropriate orientation and tilt to ensure the optimal utilization of solar irradiation. The plant equipment includes power inverters, electrical protection and control panels, grounding systems, cabling, and all other necessary components, in full compliance with applicable technical specifications and safety regulations.

The generated electrical energy is utilized through net billing (energy offsetting under simultaneous consumption) by the facilities of the Medical School, contributing to the reduction of electricity consumption from conventional energy sources, the limitation of greenhouse gas emissions, and the strengthening of the environmental responsibility of the University of Crete.

The installation includes the following main equipment:

491 JA SOLAR photovoltaic modules, rated at 610 W each
6 FRONIUS TAURO ECO power inverters
